Hello Everyone,

Hope you can help me with this or explain it to me. Want to buy another engine with lower milage etc.
Now I am wondering if it is possible for me to buy an engine from an mk4 or an Seat or something like that.

Am asking this because I saw an engine from an MK4 with about 116000 on the clock.
But im not sure if i can swap this without changing gearbox and other parts.
Does someone here have any experience with this? The engine codes are the same they are both APF.

Best regards,
Glenn

If the engine codes are the same, then you can swap it in just fine. You can keep your original ECU so you won't run into issues with the immobiliser either.

You can keep your original gearbox too, unless you'd prefer to have a lower mileage one (note: lower mileage doesn't mean it will be better).

Thank you for the reaction! Did not want to change the gearbox, will put a new clutch in there. Also the normal parts that you most of the time replace when you have free acces to the engine.

Ordered the engine, hope to swap it soon!
Again thank you for the reaction! Gave me some peace of mind.
