5 door mk4 golf

Have searched the forums, no guides, no firm information so...

After having my rear quarter glass smashed, I am now trying to fit a new one and it feels like Im putting a square through a triangle shaped hole, ie; a pain in the arse.

Does anyone know a less stressful way of doing this impossible task?

Or simply 'the' way.

I have one more day before Im back at work and I don't much fancy parking my car up with a covered window [brick]

Does the middle strut come out at all? Would make life less frustrating!

Just looked in my Haynes manual for you, Mate. It seems that, once you have stripped out the main opening window, the metal upright and window can be slid forwards, together with the entire rubber frame for the quarter glass. This will eventually allow you the space to manouvre it out of the door. Replacement is the reverse of removal.

Wigster.
