Hey guys, I posted this in the depths of the mk5 technical forums but no one sees it! I spray tinted my rear lights last week following some advice on an audi forum. I masked off the clear circle and sprayed the red bit a few times then a couple of coats of clear lacquer. Then I removed the masking tape and gave it 2 more coats of lacquer to seal everything in. But the lacquer on the clear part has formed a texture and has given it a slightly frosted look. Luckily I only did the inner/boot part of the light so the big outer ones are fine (and look great!). Is it possible to remove the lacquer or smooth it down so the lights are clear again? Sorry about the poor quality phone pics of a dirty car! Best I can do at the moment...

Before...

After...

You can see the smaller circle is not completely clear like the outer / bigger circle.

Any ideas please throw them in my direction. Cheers

Sorry for the shameless bump but I'd like to do something about this on my precious days off! I don't want to jump straight in with abrasives in case it will scratch the plastic too. Any ideas?

this might sound daft but have you tried using something like a rubber? possibly something similar to a harder plasic rubber or even the rough rubbers used for ink? (usually blue i think...)
