Look up yellow pages for an automotive locksmith, they specialise in this kind of thing and really know their stuff. There are a few in Scotland but I know that's not much use to you.

The other thing is the VW 'locking problem' which you might find info about on the site and maybe someone will PM you more detail, I cn't really help I am afraid, no direct experience but VW dealers do know about it whether they are willing to admit it or not is another story!

Not much help I know but the best I can think of, hope you get it sorted without breaking the bank.

You will probably damage your door and lock if you attempt this.

Could always smash the windscreen and then get in to open doors from inside, then claim for a new windscreen!

please don't anyone pm this guy the details of the locking issue?

i don't want to offend titch, but a new user asking how to get into a golf could be dodgy? especially after recent posts about the problem on here.

i hope you see my point.

just use the rac/aa!

how can u lock the keys in the boot? Would u have to open the boot, lock all the car doors and then throw the keys in and close the boot?

Unless the boot light switch was dodgy (ie washer leak) and the car relocked itself after 30 seconds and the keys were put down in the boot and the tailgate closed?

i can see your point being a new user not giving me details! my missus opened the boot put the keys down lifted the pram out closed the boot and it just locked = keys locked in boot? just phoned vw and they said take my documents down and they'll cut a key without having the program bit just so i can get in and get my keys back [8)] for a small fee of ?45 but the only thing is won't get it till tuesday....

Sounds like you may need to look at your rear washer/light switch when you eventually get into the car!

cheers mate, there must be something wrong with the rear lock cause sometimes i lock the car but the boot stays open? it's happened to me a few times. Just got hold of vw bridgend and they are going to cut me a blade just so that i can get in there to get my keys back [^] picking it up monday ?10[;)]

Hopefully i will have my car back next week, don't know if i can cope a weekend without her[:(]
