I shouldn't tempt fate but i have been told my car is at final assembly in the factory (stage 7), so fingers crossed i should get it in a few weeks, unless it falls off the boat etc[]

I just phoned my dealer and mine is in the country, it shoudl be delivered to them on Monday, I got mine through drive the deal.

They have to do the final checks then i will have it finally, I have now been 5 months with a car and it's a killer, hope I haven't forgotten how to drive [)]

Mine's a Red GTi, 18" alloys, 18" spare, Xenons, Winter Pack, Lux Pack 2, 6 CD changer,

Can't wait

My GTI arrives at the dealers on the 14th, and as soon as I get back from overseas on the 17th, I am off to pick it up. Bit of a bummer I'm not in the UK to pick it up on the 14th, but hey, what is 3 more days going to do to me when I'vbe waited all these months already

ha ha, just had a call from my dealer, [] to arrange the delivery date as the car is there.

The only downer is, because I got it through drivethedeal.com they ordered from a VW dealer in Abeerdeen as they gave the best discount. Now I will have to get my insurance docs sent up so I probably won't get it till Thursday or Friday next week [].

Oh well, it's been 5 months , whats another few days

Have your dealer offered to transport it or drive it? I have got my car through a broker, and my dealership is in Leicester, but they will only drive it to me and not transport it. Just wondered if was something they wouldn't offer as there has already been enough discount through the broker?

Mine's being transported down, I wouldn't be too chuffed on receiving it with 600 miles on the clock [^]

Why not take the train up ther and drive it down? A nice long run to get to know your car.

Yes me! I've ordered Steel Grey to be different, which will be colour coded before I pick it up!

stu1wyatt, is your GTi coming with a private plate? or is it just a 'normal' one. Its just that i've seen two red GTi's today at Specialist Cars, and one has the plate A6 ***

ah right okay, well, the two i saw were the only ones in the place, (had a look round the back while i was waitin for me car). Both of them were red and looked spotless!
