i de tuned the car before taking it to the dealers for its service. as per usual the airbag light came on so i tried to clear that . next thing i know the car isnt starting. amd are being really helpful over this but they are stumped to. i guess il just have to hand it over under warrenty and hope vw can sort it out. when i turn on the igntion i get the air bag light and the traction light still on. the fuel pump doesnt prime the fuel system when you turn the key and the engine just turns over and over without starting. anyone got any ideas? i checked all the fuses and none were blown. help!!!!

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and allowing the ecu to reset? If that doesn't work I'd try a vag-com to clear any fault codes.

I had an intermittent fault like this, fuel pump not priming, or priming very slow, car not starting, or starting and stalling straight away, weird fault codes at the ecu, turned out to be the cradle that the Chip sits in in the ecu, (agu 99my) a bad connection, causing intermittent signals.

It would die at 80, and sometimes restart, but normally not, the steering at 80 became very "keep fit".

I would power off the ecu by disconnecting the battery for about 20 mins. Then speak to AmD if that doesn't cure the problem.

Could just be conincidence, perhaps relay 109 has died.

Top Tip - If it's relay 109, the glowplug light won't come on.

Sounds like the Flash is corrupt to me.

If so only way is to remove ECU and reflash the code directly as the ECU usually stops communicating via OBD port.

i disconnected the battery but that didnt work. the one click says its running in standard mode so il ring the aa in the morning, act dumb and get it towed to the vw garage. vw are expecting me.

well vw have taken it in and i told them the car got struck by lightning or summing. so they are odering a new ecu from germany. spoke to amd and they will re chip it when thats fitted which is nice.

Mate are you sure you want it chipped by amd again? By the sounds of it, its the one click that has caused the problem?

after much thought i have decided i dont want to keep the module from the company and am thinking of trying to get a refund as i have only had it for a few months. how should i go about it?

plus now i have a new ecu i would like to try another chip maybe revo or somthing. any suggestions?

Just write a nice letter to them, be honest, tell them you are not happy with the product and i'm sure you will see some joy!

AmD....Problems.....Hmmmmmm.....I wonder if anyone else had had similar problems with AmDs kit?
