One of my work colleagues has just bought one, looks better in the flesh imo and according to her it's been turning a few heads, some muppet even took a picture of her driving it ??? Not sure if my 28k would be spent on one though.

Performance specs don't seem too hot 215bhp, at least it makes a change from Audi TTs [|)][|)][|)]..sorry. Has some fairly nice looking wheels though, 19" rears with 18" up front, shod with ultra low profile Pilot sports...

Very very pretty car but based on the old SLK chassis...having driven one of those for a prolonged period of time I do hope its very different, that was the least exciting car ever to drive! Love the way the Crossfire looks.

215bhp from a 3.2 - thats not quite up to the VAG standard is it?

Also the space wasted in the back is unbelieveable, and the practicality of the rear hatch/window is rubish imo. but who buys one of these for practicality?

I dont think they will sell that well at all, the looks from the rear and side are very nice, but for that money there are far more attrctive sport car motors available.

I agree with spanner - for 27k in the sports car market the 350Z does well.

If anyones seen the proposed look of the new SLK then that would be a hot contender too - think SLR and you are on the right track, just smaller.

afaik it's made at a merc plant in europe

all I can say is take one stick, beat it with an ugly stick, then beat it again with another ugly stick, then repeat a further 10 times. Now take the super ugly stick and use that to beat an SL and you'll still end up with something prettier than the crossfire.

To me it looks worse in the metal. just don't like it.

A 3.2 engine producing 215bhp is a joke considering that a BMW 3.2 engine produces 343bhp(as in M3). Why do Mercedes need to bolt superchargers on their engines when BMW can produce normally aspirated engines that are just as powerful and sound far better?

Walked out to the office car park last night and what should be parked up, but a Crossfire. Had my camera handy so thought I would take a couple of photos (apologies for the quality, but it was getting dark) -

Not a bad looking car, but it's just a Merc in drag to me!
