Got a set of KW V1s fitted today.

Before :

After:

I got the garage that mantains the work vans to do it for me while I was out working, when I asked the guy to fit Coilovers he looked at me blankly, so I explained that it was adjustable suspension. The alarm bells should have been ringing but I left eveything in the boot for him with the instructions on top incase he wasn't sure on anything.

Anyway took the car for a drive after work, everthing seemed OK, a little firm but not too bad and I knew that the back was too low and would need raising. So imagine my suprise when I looked in the boot to find the perches (or whatever they're called) for the rear springs still there, NOT FITTED!!!

How dangerous is this going to be (if at all) and are they easy to install if I want to go out and do it this evening? I'm assuming that as it is, it's just like having very short springs on?

You'd need to remove the bolt holding the strut in place at the bottom and lower the rear beam, I wouldn't have thought that you would need to completely remove the strut but I'm not sure, I've never done it before.

And people that do remove the perches, cable tie the spring in place so it can't come out.

Link below might come it useful.

Thanks for the replies.

Just spent a couple of hours out in the freezing cold trying to sort it out. Looks like the old standard perches have compacted and are stuck solid to the control arm meaning the new perches won't fit on.

I'm going to book it in with a local specialist and get them to sort it out, need some bushes and a service done anyway - more expense!
