Climatronic Fan Control

Lower/Increase Fan speed buttons do have other functions in Climatronic equipped cars ?

Or they just control the Blower speed ? PWM or not ?

I am trying to figure this out because I want to implement a custom control method for the fan.

A schematic for the Climatronic would be the best answer :D
