Whats the best value remap chip??

Revo?

AMD?

Upsolute?

Other??

I'm new to all this, so ALL advice helpful......

I'm driving the classic GTi 1.8T AUM 2001

Upsolute I'd guess as it's only ?305 (chip replacement) or ?380 serial upload compared with ?475 for Jabba and the like iirc.

I went with Upsolute as it was through the GB and they give as good as any other for an AGU.

I'm lovin' it, it really is how it should be from the box.

You might want to factor in a new diverter valve aswell.

i'm not after CHEAP as such...........just the best value,,,,,,

which is better.......chip or remap?

remap can be reversed quicker as they just plug in the computer, chip replacement requires the ecu to be removed and opened. I believe there is some suggestion that the Upsolute cars don't make as much power as revo etc. all I can say is I'm more than happy with mine and does a couple of brake make a real difference?

You're welcome to try mine for comparison to your standard but as you have DBW (iirc) yours'll make a good 10- 15 bhp more than mine does

I'm sure there are plenty of others out there for similar, if not more ???.

Not sure who'll get the mk5 pleasure though, AMD gives about 245bhp, but it aint cheap

?382!!?? I thought Jabba would be lot more than that, even if it was a GB...

I got myself a Collins powerchip form Collins performance.

cost ?250 quid for a 30bhp gain. it's not the most you can get but boy it does make a difference. Pulls alot better in all gears., going to add a N75J to hopefully give a little more boost

As you have the AUM engine i'd consider the Revo.

I have it on mine at it produced 210bhp on its own. Add to that the 4bar programme and now the stage 2 and you should be up to around 230bhp for around ?650

Also you should have a look at the new Custom Code from JBS, other members on the forum are raving about it

Yes you can have the free trial. Takes about 10 mins and last for 6 hours driving time []

Fair play fella! Just read my post and it sounded a bit arsey. Not meant to be, James helped me out with a gearbox recently (at a price mind!).

There is a huge VAG market out there and theres more than enough bhp hungry drivers who want their car as nature intended (fast) for everyone![]

REVO's still the best though.[]
