morning guys

have done a search and couldnt find a guide if there is one,

Got some oil leaking into my number 2 spark plug and have been told it the cam cover gasket. How hard is it to change and is there a guide on here to do it?

cheers

never seen a guide mate but shouldnt be to hard just remove your cam cover and change the gasket [:p] if you wanna be sure then go to a mechanic i dont think he'll charge you much
There are 2 gaskets. One that runs round the outer of the rocker cover, and one that gaskets the plugs.

Simple job to change. Remove coilpacks and any pipes that go to the rocker cover. Undo the 5 or 6 bolts that hold the rocker cover down. Swap the gaskets over and torque to bolts up to 10nm. They dont need to be that tight.
ahh sweet so should nt be a hard job to do :)

gonna attempt this tomz then i think
Done mine today. Super easy job (did it while doing a service) need new cam cover nuts though, 2 of mine have knackered threads now :(.

So be careful when tightening them up. I didnt actually add much pressure to them at all i think they just had it, as the others have gone up tight.

Thats because these are cam cover nuts not head bolts..
so as long as im careful i shouldnt need to purchase new bolts...
There are no bolts on the cam cover bud, just nuts on the studs. You won't need to replace them providing you just nip them up (or use a torque wrench to 10nm), I've always just applied a suitable amount of pressure as its only an m10 nut.
