Can only comment based on experience of the M3 and RS4. However if your looking for a toy why is the X5 on your list[:O] Good for the School run though.

I loved my RS4, and might still get another one, but its not really a weekend toy. Its superb for day to day. Kills motorways and A roads. Needs some mods for trackday and good B road blasts. GMBH suspension and quickshift to start with.

The M3 is more of a toy, esp with the SMG gearbox. Nice car to hone your driving skills on. Sounds great, goes as well as an RS4, but all other 3 series look like it [:O]

For a pure toy it would be the Tuscan or Elise for me.

No Porsche in your list!

How about a 996 or Boxster S. Had the later, great car but would have liked more power.

F355 would be my play thing. You can pick em up for just under £50K RHD now.[^]

What was wrong with the Elise. I'm thinking of one as a second car.

The VXT also sounds interesting. Nice and easy to tune and damn quick. Certainly a LOT quicker than the R32

Not quite in the Ferrari ball park yet. As for Porsche... too many down this way - far too common, unless it was a 996 GT3 circa 1999.[:D][:D]

I'm considering the Audi S4 Avant for my next car, coupled with an AMD chip ... nice Q car and totally practical. If my new job goes as planned then I think it'll be sooner rather than later.

My 2p worth: (please note this is all imo)

BMW X5 - no no no no no, a car that has no proper niche

TVR Tuscan - yes, provided you are not looking for practicality

BMW M3 - yes - always wanted one, nothing much wring if you can afford one

Lotus Elise 111S - hmm yes and no, more likly to make a nice partner to the TVR/BMW/Audi [;)]

Audi RS4. - for sure, as I say I'm looking at the S4 Avant for the same reasons, though can't stretch to this.

Surprised you don't mention Porsche amongst those, and possibly the M5. Another consideration would be the Jag S Type R.

Where can i start....... Maybe the car just wasnt suited to me !

But there not that qucik and i found the car far too light for my driving style. The car cannot handle any bumps or lumps in the road its a track car IMO ?

But everyone is different !
