Get used to it - my old GT TDI creaked like a creaky thing and nothing I did could get rid of it.

Hmmm...but the thing is... there does DEFINITELY seem to be some sort of screw missing, cos its abit loose wen you shake it. Like i said....once the car is warmed up...you cant hear a thing....

Strange

Mine has been like that since i got it a year and a half ago. It's been in to the dealers 3 times to get them to fix it and each time it's solved it for about a day then it comes back.

You'll just have to live with it I'm afraid.

yes a common problem...

The centre console but where the f=gaer stick is doesn't really fit properly with the mounting screws. There's far to much movement. Either live with it or buy a tube of grease and lubricate the plastic on plastic parts. Silicon spray 's useless as it dries out real quick...

Good luck

I reckon I have fixed the vibration from my centre console. Bet it will come back after I post this.

I have traced it down to the black plastic tray that sits between the CD player and the Stereo.

Noticed it got worse since I was monkeying around fitting my MP3 player line in.

Anyway I have found it is critical that this piece is clipped in correctly. You have to make sure it is evenly in on both sides. If it is not correct the rattle is horrendous.

When you have put it in you will notice that the gap between the CD player and stereo is slightly bigger.

No more rattles from it after doing this.

As for the rear creaking, try screwing around with the plastic bump stops on either side.

I reckon I have fixed this!

I think that the center console and the plastic section around the dash touch sometimes an make it creak.

Solution : Wedge a thick chunk of rubber between the two. Et voila, no more creaking!! Try it! It took me ages to realise what it was...

Hope this helps

[:(!] Got the exact same problem mate - I can sympathise with you - its really annoying especially when the whole interior looks so solid and well built - but hay just turn up the music and ejoy!

Do you think Stuffing abit of Blue tack there would help ?

Well me console is ok, but the rear of the car is creaking, sounds like the rear leathers are loose or the boot lid is loose. What ever it is I need to sort it!!!!

Try folding down the rear seats then going for a drive. If the creaking is now gone it is likely to be one of the seat back locking catches which are rather flimsy to say the least. Get your stealer to replace it under warranty.

I wouln't use blu tack. A thick strip of rubber make sure the two pieces of trim to not touch when the chassis/car flexes going over bumps etc. The blu-tack will deform, but you want something to absorb the compression still keeping the two pieces of trim apart.

At first I used a wedge of that non slip matt stuff folded up, then once I prooved this worked I bought some stick on rubber feet from a DIY store. I wedged a couple in place (they are black so look OK) and hey presto I never get the center console creaking anymore!
