[1.8T Chap]

Purchased a centre armrest and fitting kit etc, problem is the armrest seems to be locked in the upright position and I cant seem to shift it, any ideas what to press/how to fix this?

Have you fitted it yet? it's pretty difficult to move when it isn't bolted down.

yeah fitted it this afternoon i though itd be easier to move when bolted down but it didnt budge and i ended up breaking the metal bracket so gonna get that re-ordered on monday under warranty. any ideas what to do?

I have a spare metal bracket you can have for postage costs if you have no luck with warrenty.

cheers for that Gary i appreciate that, i work at a dealership anyway so shouldnt be a prob but its good to know just incase thanks, you coming down to the midlands meet? Anyone else have any ideas how to "unlock" it?

u press the button under the catch that lifts the lid up! That goes in and allows you to move it into the down position!

Thanks for that Paul just looked at it and yes thats exactly it, how silly do I feel now lol, I broke the bracket trying to get it to go down just shows how strong it is cos it took two of us and a firly large sized foot. Thanks mate.

Ahh, I remember your car now, very nice indeed. IMO the Oettinger front grill is one of the nicest on the market, I love it.

Yeah cheers Paul, I havent put the centre console in place fully because ill be putting the armrest in again on tuesday then gonna put it all back together then at least i managed to tidy up my ice install though by removing it fed it up under the carpet then under the seats to the boot so not all bad. Yeah cheers Gary how much bhp does your car produce now then?

Not totally sure but I played with vagcom which told me 215bhp which is way too low, I would have expected around 240bhp.

I'll get on a set of rollers soon to verify.

yeah thats what id expect mines just had the Oettinger chip and its producing 196bhp but i feel the need for speed so might upgrade to a K03 sport soon.
