Sorry to drag an old topic back up, but does anyone know of any other places selling armrests for the MKV? www.vagparts.com are looking for ?235 + VAT which is more than I would prefer to pay and I still havent seen any on ebay. Thanks in advance.
Bumping this back up as I'm still searching for an armrest. The only one I can find is made by Kamei for around ?70 on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-5-Mittelarmlehne-KAMEI-arm-rest-OEM-NEU_W0QQitemZ8026290336QQcategoryZ99143QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem but I would much prefer to retrofit an OEM one.

As far as that goes, he's right, but the back part of the centre console is only a cheapo piece of ugly plastic, so you just need to change that as well!

The armrest can be retrofitted with or without your current centre console. If you dont mind the vents not working on the rear of the armrest, its easy enough to remove the back part (the big bottle holder section) and replace it with the armrest section. If you want the rear vents to work, you need to change the centre console as well as it is shaped to include the ducting from the front of the console along the floor to the back of the armrest. I dont know why your dealer is saying it cant be done, it is a couple of hours work but they should be able to do it no problem if you dont fancy tackling it yourself.

Just removed a Cd Changer Armrest from a crashed GTi, hoping to change over my armrest non CD version within the next week or so, will have an OEM armrest for sale, either the CD version if i cannot be bothered to change or the cool box version if i can be bothered, must admit was a apin to remove without instructions, just realised someone had posted a link to some "destructions".

Any VW dealer will be able to order in the armrest. THey'll just need your chassis number to order the correct part. Cost me Euro250 approx to buy the unit in Ireland. Took about 8 days to order it in. They fitted it for another Euro150. Could probably have fitted it myself but too lazy. [|-)]
