Are there any other new cars available other than various models in the Ford range that come with a heated windscreen as standard as an option. As I am getting cheesed off with scraping the windscreen (twice today).,

I imagine they are a bit costly to replace when you get hit by a stone?

50 quid if your insurance covers windscreens, which most do.

They are a wonderfull invention, my KA has one whereas the 8 doesnt, mind you the windscreen is the least of my worries with that when its icy[:O]

Hmm.. The missus used to have a 206 with a "solar" windscreen.. Autoglass tried to stuff us for ?75 when the excess was ?50, because the limit on the insurance was up to ?150 (and the screen was ?225)

I thought heated ones would be even more?

You may be right then but I do remember only paying the normal excess when I had the heated screen changed on a Fiesta we had a few years ago. [:)]

In a way, even if you do need to shell across more pennies, it's probably worth it. Just like

heated door mirrors

heated rear screen

heated seats etc etc

You only need to have them for a while to never be able to do without them! LOL [:D]

Was tempted to get this fitted to my Mini but just stopped at the mirrors. It will live in the garage so it don't need it!!

Can't see misting in a Mini being as much of a problem anyway. Its MkIVs that mist up horrendously, never had it as bad in any other car.. mine had ice INSIDE the windscreen yesterday.. [:(]
