my latch on my drivers door is faulty, well its the curticy switch that is the problem. the car thinks the door isnt open when it is so the lights inside the car dont come on when the door is opened and if i unlock the car and open the door after like a minute or two the car trys to lock the doors and if it dose try that while the door is open after another minute the alarm gose off SUPER anoying when at asda putting the shopping in the back seats (not alot of room in boot due to sub box's)

the thing im having problems with is i know how to repair it i just cant seem to get the lock out of the door to remove the inner door pannel off that holds all the window mech and stuff so that i can get to the latch, when i pull the door handle out and unscrew the little torques bolt on the door jam to release the lock from the handle it dosnt work the bolt comes near enough out and the lock stays in???

how do i remove the lock without using the torques bolt in the door jam and how dose the thing work i.e how dose the torques screw hold the lock in place?

thanks

That screw turns a collar that hold the lock in, you need to remove the lock to disconnect the handle cable to remove the pannel.

Neil
are you turning it the right way? it should only need turning once or twice to release the barrel from the ring.
thanks very much for the help this is the pages i have already the problem i have is in steps 17-20 i cant seem to get the door lock out of the coller after i unscrew the torques bolt? im stuck as to how to get the lock out with the collar being stuck?

thanks

You'll have to take the inner skin off so you can see what's happening with the locking collar but if you go too far out it'll lock back in place again so maybe just that is your problem?

I do it like this, pulling the lock carefully and wiggling it as I slowly undo the Torx T20 screw....

not sure if its the same problem but i had a job removing the lock barrel when i was de locking my door, I sprayed loads of WD40 in there then undid the screw slowly ( it was tight at first) then after about 10 turns (not sure of exact turns) i wobbled the lock and tapped it with the rubber end of a screw driver (if that makes sense) then after hitting it harder it came loose then just pulled it whilst undoing the screw until it came out.

hope this is of some help

Ian
