Now i know this topic has been brought up before, and after relentlessly searching the site and sifting through past threads, i found that no-one (to my knowledge) has yet answered this question fully one way or the other so i felt i had to bring it up again, as i'll soon be buying one....
I'm guessing i know the first two things you're probably going to say are...
1) They wont work on DBW models because of the MAF and problems with VAG-COM error codes,
and 2) Why do you want a noisy BOV when the re-circulating type fitted already will do the job better?!
OK, First of all, it has come to my attention quite recently that at least a couple of BOV's have been produced that WONT cause VAG-COM to show up error codes, one type is the GFB range and i'm sure the other i read somewhere is the Bailey DV26? Secondly, i know this is a sore subject with a lot of people on here with regards to the venting noise.
Most of you guys seem to prefer the silent re-circulating types... I however am prepared to stray away from this way of thinking as i have always loved the sound of turbo cars and the infamous "PSSSHHHHTTT" sound.
I realise that i am in the small percentage here that share this view, but at the end of the day, it's your car and i know you'll all agree with me on this, but you're going to do what YOU want aren't you, not what others want?!
So basically just to sum up, i'd like opinions on which is the loudest valve and also if anyone has got or has used a BOV on theirs, i would love to hear your comments/experiences. All feedback positive or negative will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. [^]
