hello , ive been on here before and havnt a clue how to fix/repair cars [negative]

anyway 2 days ago i went to go into second gear and bang the clutch pedal died

there was a few bits of plastic kicking about on the floor and thats it

the clutch pedal has no tension whatsoever , once its pushed downwards it will slam up against the floor and stay there ?

at first i was told its was probably just a small part needed for the pedal

but also ive been told it could be much worse !

its bora tdi se 150 thou on the clock

The clutch pedal is a common problem on the mkIVs.

Why dont you ring up a stealer, and ask for a price on a new set?

mine went the other week i was told a small plastic clip on the side that holds the cable snapped got it fixed for 30 pound

Just get new pedal and the plastic " U " shaped clip ( ball socket )that holds the pedal to the clutch master cylinder rod (ball end ) ..very common .

Usually the metal tab on the pedal which stops the plastic clip pushing out the back breaks off ..bit of extra weld would of stopped this ...think the new pedals are modified to stop this .

If you can find the broken piece of metal you can always weld it back on ...but you still need to remove the pedal .

thanks ! its just trying to find someone decent to come and look at it

the last bloke that was here said it could cost 800-1000 he was talking about fly wheels clutch kits and stuff lol

i think its about £30 odd pound for the pedal and the clip is a couple of quid ....i know its not mega bucks .... its not an hard job to do really if you know what your doing ...lol

give the dealers a ring tomorrow , they will tell you the price of the parts ....they will know straight away what your on about as its very common . ( 1 x clutch pedal ...1x plastic clip )

surely there must be someone near to you who can have a look

theres a couple of garages its getting the car there thats the problem ill give them a ring tommorow and sort a price out

would i not be able to go to my local autostock and get one ordered in there ?
