Hi all,

I recently updated the stereo in my VW Bora (2005) from the double din Gamma 5 to an android unit. For the most part everything works great however the steering wheel controls are not functional. I was assured by the seller that the canbus was integrated and that the steering wheel controls would be retained. The stereo came with it's own iso harness (see image) however the mini iso leads from my car (yellow/green/blue) are not connected to anything in the harness.

The blue block of the mini iso was hardwired into the cars CD player so I separated this section. There are no wires going into the yellow block as default. There are 4 wires going into the green block. The harness provided with the new stereo only has pins connecting to the yellow block (empty). I can provide more info on the colour of wires and which pins they go to in the iso connection if this helps!

Firstly does anyone know how the steering wheel controls talk to the stereo, are they transferred through the green mini iso? Apologies for my limited knowledge, I will try my best to answer questions, just grateful for any help :)

Hi, thanks for the reply! I've seen the adapter from Connects2 (CTSVW001.2) however I don't think there is a jack on the back of the aftermarket stereo compatible. I'll do some investigating tomorrow to see if there's a plug. Apparently the canbus decoder is integrated in the new aftermarket stereo, so I didn't think I would need an adapter but i just don't know which wires carry the signal from the steering wheel or where they need to be connected.
