Is anyone using the above brake discs and can offer there thoughts on them compared to OEM?

My front 288 discs and pads need replacing and I am considering replacing the OEM discs with a set from the above manufacturers, along with Pagid fast road pads, hopefully for an improvement in braking performance.

I have looked at some other makes e.g Tarox/red dot but they are above what i want to spend on the disks.

Thanks in advance for any constructive comments (no 312 upgrade suggestions please [;)]).

I had the black diamond 288mm on my old AGU they were fantastic I had front and rear combie disks, I now have 312mm front and rear combie on my other agu and they are pretty good but I don't think the price of the upgrade from 288mm to 312mm is worth the price IMHO

I have Ate PowerDisc on the front with VAG rear discs & VAG pads all round.

Unfortunately couldn't source Pagid Fast Road pads for my car (

They feel good, don't judder or make any noise and I think they are good value for money.

I used to run Ate Powerdiscs with EBC GreenStuff (all round) on my old mkIII GTI and found they took too long to work at their best and they proved to be very noisy.

where is the best place to get black diamond discs from? My breaks will also need changing soon and want some uprated ones.

I always get mine from C&R enterprise but don't get the pads I think thay are crap, must only work when they are hot as seems less initial bite, not much dust though [:)]

i'm ready to fit my 3rd set of black diamond discs on the front again, they keep warping, prob only had them on 8 or 9 months, will try a difernt make next time i think

3rd Set, have you claimed under some kind of warranty due to the warping [?] What size discs are you running and would you say the discs/pads combo is a mrked improvement over stock [?]

I've only ever heard of warping problems with discs thats are drilled, maybe you should get of set of just grooved ones next time [?]

for info, i went for none of the above.

I would have liked the ATE powerdiscs, but apparently there is not an application for my vehicle.

Anyway, I went with a pair of Pagid 8 groove discs & Pagid Fast Road pads, supplied by Ade @ Awesome at a superb price (once again).
