Need to get some asap and have been quoted by Elite Direct:

?505 for Koni reds with Eibach springs (30mm drop)

?585 for Koni yellows with Eibach springs (30mm drop)

Anyone know of any other places that could do a good (preferably better deal?

Thanks

Craig - I believe red aren't adjustable on the car (yellows are for front only, yellow rears adjustable off car) and give a slightly less firm ride.

Can anyone else confirm? Has anyone here fitted Koni reds with Eibachs?

I got the Kit yellow kit (with spring) from Larkspeed for 365 inc, Eibach 30mm drop from Venommotorsport for 120 inc.

Koni yellows are firmer, koni reds are more like stock. Why not consider Eibach pro dampers, they could be better match with the eibach springs. I've heard that are not as firm as koni, but firmer than stock sport suspension.

I think Koni reds are adjustable, but need to take them off to do so.

Vogtland Springs are not supposed to be exactly the same as Eibach, my experience is they are harder than eibach. Vogtland springs offer 35mm drop, eibach is 30mm. eibach coil is thinner and longer.

Not for the 2wd Golfs. I believe there is an issue with the camber on the rear of the 4wd models though.

I have Eibach Springs and shocks, upgraded from standard, and they are great! Can't really vouch for any of the others, or any of the pick and mix versions, but I bought this setup cos it seemed to have the best feedback for a complete kit. I believe Eibach -35mm springs with Koni yellows is supposed to be the ideal setup, but you don't seem to be able to buy the springs or shocks separatly (ie not in a kit).

Incidentally Eibach make the OEM Sports supension anyway, so they ought to know what they are doing... ;)

Cheers

BTW, Koni yellows for the golfs are rebound adjustable only. The softest setting will give you more compression dampling than rebound (apparently this is what you have on 4x4s, not sports cars). What you get with this setting at the end is a bouncy castle ;) Tweaking the rear suspension over the weekend make me realised that it will take a full turn from soft to get similar compression and rebound dampling.

Just had the -50mm Eibach kit with yellow adjustable konis fitted. Ride height is perfect and the damping is set on the middle setting. Ride is 10%-20% harder than before but in no way harsh.

Craig,

Your cars looking sweet mate [:D]

Softened the ride a bit when I got home tonight. Will need a wee drive to see if it's any different. Did it look hard? I don't think it's that bad! ie brain not rattling between ears [:D]

B15ETJ,

Star Performance fitted - www.starperformance.co.uk

Much better now. I've got the Eibach anti-roll bar kit fitted as well. Corners like it's on rails now [:D]

How the car now it's chipped? Did you go to Dubsport?

i did take your advise for Dubsport heading down tommorow my plan was to get the revo software but at the moment there having bother with the installation gear so it's because i did'nt want to wait any longer i decided on a custom remap on the rollers i'm assuming it jabbasport's booked in for 2.30. i'll let you take it for a blast at the next meet to compare it with the revo. reason for asking about the suspension was i'm needing mine lowered asap just looking at some of the options.

cheers davy
