If you find out Sem then be sure to let me know.

What about the BBS supplier you picked your CH's up from in Manchester?
Is is Motorsport Wheels or something similar?
Yep that's the place, do you fancy popping in and asking them as they are quite local to you? [;)]

Blackburn, are you sure thats the proper BBS spanner (Blue if I remember, and looks like a large plasic spanner) and not the black dogbone style tool which opens up to store your locking bolt key, as supplied with the Anniversary?

Got one last month from the stealers about?15 i think misses put the wrapper in the bin before i had chance to put the part number up! So the stealers do sell them it dose make life easyer to well worth a buy imo.
Doesn't matter, the actual spanner will have a part number stamped into it somewhere, any chance you can have a look?

hope this helps i will ring the guy at vw parts tomorrow and get a number of him aswell . Also its not a spanner as such mor of a box with grooves in the bottom. You could just ring vw and as for mk4 golf anni center cap remover first time they got me a mk3 one.

That sounds like the one we already have which is very flimsy at best, black isnt it?

There is a proper spanner available which is much better though I doubt VW dealers will sell them, it will be a BBS dealer I would think.

I'll check that number with mine, sounds like the same one though.

There is definately a proper spanner (I think it's red) as I remember seeing them on ebay a couple of years ago when I was searching for Anni alloys.

The VW supplied tool is rubbish and not worth 15 quid IMO, I have managed to smooth off the grooved bits on mine so it doesn't grip the cap anymore! Shouldn't tighten the caps up so much [:$]

The Local Stealer has just found me one, so I will ask them for the actual part number when I get there, it took them about a week to find it. They originally told me I would have to find a chassis number of an original MK4 Anni Golf for them to find me the part. []

Idiots.

I believe it will be fine if you have the pasty crimped centre caps! The BBS branded caps appear to be exactly the same as the Anni ones from what I have seen.

I know the original post made reference to the fact that the spanner is shite, it is a hollow plastic tool that looks like it won't last five minutes - not bad for sixteen and a half quid. (?!?)[N]

That looks cool - and it looks like it wouldn't harm the centre caps either.

I am on my third tool now, the guy from the local stealers clearly doesn't like me a great deal! His suggestion is that I fill the spanner with some form of hardener to ensure that it keeps its shape.

He told me they should be finger tight at best, I asked him why they made a spanner for the wheels and he could not see where I was coming from. I really had to ask myself if I had missed the point somehow!

I have managed to get two centre caps off so far, to be honest, I have lost interest now and can't be arsed!
