**Battle of the rims**

Tell me what you think....... all wheels quoted are 18" (i dont want to feel like im driving a tractor on 19" and rubber will hurt my bank balance too)

Ok so thanks to evilhomer im now up on the Nuvolaris, other rims im considering are:

BBS RCs

http://tinypic.com/paovq

- Look fantastic on Sem's ride (or is that ex-ride), they got that racing look and go nicely with the MKIV but are the most expensive out of my bunch. Best package quote 1240.00 with Federal tyres.

A8 Replicas

http://tinypic.com/pasly

- Another nice wheel and not too common (yet) but will this darkish wheel go well on reflex silver? Not going to break the bank either. Best package quote 799.00 w/ Avon tyres.

Oz Supertourismo GT

http://tinypic.com/pasdl

- Close(ish) to the R32 style and a look which goes well on nearly all cars imo. Another branded one thus price will hurt more than some. Best package quote 1120.00 w/ Federal rubber.

RS4 Replicas

http://tinypic.com/pasg6

- Cant really go wrong with these ones. Look great, a nice OEM look, cheapest of all and many packages on offer. Only downside is the 'join the club' aspect i suppose. Best package quote 629.00 w/ Avon tyres.

and finally...

Nuvolari Replicas

http://tinypic.com/pasjo

- Different but without being outrageous, still got the OEM feel too. Not that many places stock these tho but will definatly stand out from the crowd if purchased. Best package deal 846.00 w/ Falken rubber.

Again the choices are:

BBS RCs

A8 Replicas

Oz Supertourismo GT

RS4 Replicas

Nuvolari Replicas

I would ideally like comments just on these wheels here otherwise it will complicate my decision even more. Ive been wee weeing around deciding for ages already and would like to get this show on the road pretty soon.[:p] All comments/opinions/experiences/problems are welcome.

LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE

(P.s if anyone knows where i can get any of these for less than the quoted best package let me know!!)

BBS RC's - lovely wheel.. most BBS rims are ace. The price is quite good as BBS always pricey.

A8 rims.... I love em, but more for a passat. I think they overwheel the golf.

OZ superT's - again lovely, quailty light wheel... but I think a little to intricate for the mk4 shape... and just think of the time cleaning them!!!

RS4 - Nearly bought myself... cheap if you go for reps, but I was lookin for genuine. (Mint 2nd hand with reasonable tyres around ?600)

Reason I din't buy... too many of them... and of course the nuvolari's which look similar but different.

No prizes for my personal choice, but I do like the RC's.

Have fun,

M [:D]

Loved the Nuvolaris since I first saw them. Am also a big fan of the RS4s and thought they were common but when you're out on the road how many do you see? Not a lot (or I don't anyway).

If i was making the decision again I would go for less spokes - not so bad in the warmer weather but cleaning the SuperTs in the freezing cold hurts - but then, it's all multi-spokes you've gone for so you'll have to expect that regardless [)]

The A8s I've only liked on one car (at the recent London meet?).

Have you had a look for members pics who have these wheels? They're all on here... That's what made up my mind to get the OZs, when I saw them actually on a MK4.

Here's a couple:

They are on Viperpsych's silver 1.8T:

I love the RS6's but out of the choices you gave above I would go for either the Nuvolari or the BBS rims.

In fact I would go for the Nuvolari - cost less! Lets face it both are going to get marks on them - stone chips etc and it will hurt a lot less if the wheels cost less in the first place!

Nuvolari's are gonna be as common as RS4/RS6's....give it a few months!

RC's all the way, I would have bought them for my MK4 but they would have shown off the tiny brakes!! Which is why I went for the CH's.
