ok so ive toyed with the idea of doing this to my car for a while but didnt want to go through all the trouble of filling in the bonnet and bumper notches and i found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK4-4-FK-Badgeless-Sport-Debadged-Grill-/360305568114?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53e3e2a972 so do you think it would look cheap and nasty or is it worth a go?

not that one exactly but along those lines
if your going badgeless ffs get the notch filled in your bumper and bonnet. I laugh so hard ad de badged grills with the notch inserts. no need to offend any members on here with them but they look pants and EVERYONE knows it!

but as they say, if every car is the same it would be boring right?
well its just incase i dont like it and want to take it off...this way i could swap it whenever i wanted
just had another thought. well you know how everyone does the black grill on the silver cars etc, what about a blue one on a black golf? opinions welcome

^^^That looks good, although the only real way to do this job IS by filling the bonnet and bumper professionally. Well worth the money spent for the improvement it gives in looks. [Y]

Wigster.

I agree 100% here. I think it should be with badge or completely with out! Not somewhere in the middle. Quite a bit for work but it does look the nuts when it done. Something i recon i will do when i get another film with a nice big workshop. [:D] A pain to respray tho....(mines satin silver)
i know the getting it filled in is the best way but its for the days i feel like changing my mind haha
i de-badged my golf and it did look good but then i kind of missed the OEM look, the car looks a lot more solid with the badge, i'd only do it if you are going to do other mods with it

x2

i prefer the oem look on the front with the badge mate i dont really like the debadged think..i'd say spray your current grill in gloss black and your done, i know everybody does it but it still looks NIIIICE!!

whatever you do always have in mind that is YOUR car and you can do ANYTHING you want to it!

Cheers mate let us know what you decide
I tried the badgeless grille, with the in fill parts. Looked crap. decided badgeless grilles were too common so reverted back. Decided then to paint a badged grille, inc badge Satin black, My Golf is silver and grille looks awesome. below

Cars already black so that mod won't work haha might buy it try it on and if I don't like it sell it
why not spray your chrome bit black? you have already shadowed it blue, that would look nice man.
well if you want to get rid of the badged grill im in the market for one, and a black one would be PERFECT!
ive seen a black one with it done in white and it looked really good. i have a silver golf with a standard grill with only the slats sprayed black. i think the grill and badge look better different colours personally.
