Sorry for such a boring post but I would be interested to know what sort of miles you get from a full tank of fuel on average I am getting between 250-270, tried various fuels Optimax, BP Ultimate, Esso etc

Mine is all built up areas, mainly through Newcastle centre..... very
very rarely on motorways or long stretches of steady carraigeways,
which probably makes 300 miles even better!

When I had the car from new I used standard 95 RON unleaded and I was getting around 280 - 300 miles per tank for the first few months. After that I have been using Optimax for the past 14 months and the car regularly does around 320 - 340 miles per tank and runs much smoother.

Most of my driving is town/rural and a little heavy right footed action at the weekend.  Judging from what you guys are saying mine is probably a little bit on the gutsy side.  Any ideas? Is it worth bringing up with the dealer?

THe other month i got about 370 miles from a full tank.

That included a return trip from Notts to Skeggy (180 miles) and also kncokign aroudn town, to and from work.

That wasn't on optimax either, was using either normal or super unleaded.

Got 41mpg to and from skeggy though.

Still not bad IMO seeing as 0 - 60 is aroudn 7.5 standard.

27-35mpg for me, seems to jump up and down!
You have a 150 tho [;)]

Also, mine seems to have improved quite a lot since ive hit 20000
miles..... car feels like its loosened up a lot since i bought it with
13k on it. On journeys where i'd constantly get 23-25mpg i now get
27-32mpg... itll do me!

That is an excellent point [:O]

Wish i read the title now [:$]

Would the extra 30bhp make that much difference?

When i had the revo trial and was driving normally the mpg was roughly the same, untill i floored it ..............19mpg for a 5 min blast lol [A]

Make a difference to the fuel consumption?

Nah, not really... i had a 150 AGU Golf and now that the Leon has
loosened up its within a couple of what i got in the GTI. The 6-spd box
helps it i think too... and besides, its well worth it for the extra 30
ponies [:D]

Well i bought it for a number of reasons... it looks much sportier than
the Golf does, some people prefer the Golf like that but i didnt, it
needed too much money splashed on it to look special. With the
exception of new wheels im very very happy with the Leon.

It also handles much better than the equivalent Golf.... still
under-damped as all of the FWD MKIV chassis cars are, but a marked
improvement.

The whole package did it for me, looks, handling, pace... and something
that you dont see many of, i can count only another half dozen in 8
months of ownership!

Only slight downside is the fact that it feels at times like its
cheaper built..... the amount of rattles i have at the rear of the car
for example is beyond the bloody joke.

Glad your liking your new car mate, and i couldn't agree more on the golf not looking sportier, IMHO i think all the V5s/V6s/1.8Ts should have come like all the annis did [:D]
