Is there any way to add an Aux input into the standard Gamma Tape/Dash 6 disk changer??

Not an Ipod input but a standard 3.5mm Stereo jack to plug in a mp3.

Thanks

Yeh I had one of those, the whiring noise drove me mad
ditto, i thought it would be the perfect solution but it just gives me road rage!

haha i also want to be able to play my iphone or a usb stick through the oem head unit! i was going to put my old stereo back in so i could but it would just look out of place with all the fancy blue/red lighting. hmmm..

Just about every one I've ever tried gives some sort of unwanted noise, the only way to guarantee what ever you plug in will be noise free is with an after market unit with dedicated aux in.It's asking a bit much to expect a 15 year old tape deck to cope with all that modern technology don't you think[:p]?

mega thread bump but any idea what model this was?

My car has come with an old alpine unit and I like the OEM look.
You know you'll suffer a massive drop in sound quality if you swap an Alpine for any low powered OEM deck don't you?
I read that the standard cassette/CD double combo was pretty poor. Was trying to find more info on the one I quoted..
Google image drag and drop search reconised it and it's Clarion 3CP.

Shame the RMT100 is pretty ugly.

Don't really want to derail the thread but what's the options for an OEM look with atleast AUX in put?

They've all got the same audio stages (or near as damnit the same),so won't be any better just because it's a CD instead of a tape deck. The problem is that they all have different EQ curves built into them specific to the vehicle they SHOULD be fitted to,so a Golf Gamma in a Golf will sound different to a Sharan Gamma in a Golf.

Sounds like I am about to start an arguement but I'm not but research shows they come from a City Golf.

I thought the main problem was due to the power output of the standard radios?

It is down to low power output more than anything else, but they use a VERY savage EQ curve to make the most of the low power. If it is EQ'd for a Golf it won't sound as bad as if it was for say a Polo or Transporter, but also I think as they weren't made for the UK market,it doesn't have RDS if you can live without it?
