My golf 1.8 T keeps blowing the passenger side rear light bulb every couple of days.i have checked it all with a multimeter and all the wiring seems fine.anyone else had this problem and any cures for it.

My drivers side one goes every couple of months you can see it getting fainter,

I have hella RCRs, I suspect the fitment is not 100%

Mine used to do it with just the OEM lights... seems to be a feature with most Boras/Golfs...

yeah there the standard lights.it's only just done it the last few days.the only thing i have done is take the towbar off but the wiring was connected to the drivers side light

Continuous problems, but at least lamps for the rear clusters are only about 50p!

Seems to be limited to the drivers side, the fitment is perfect and there's no sign of any damp/condensation.

like i said it goes every couple of days so will be costing around ?6 a month just for bulbs[!]

Might be worth swapping the fuse and cleaning the contacts on the bulb holder.

I,ve got LED high brightness bulbs in mine, so no more blown bulbs, and very quick response time as well.

I had the passenger side tail and indicator bulbs go twice within a month.

Sprayed the holder with electrical contact cleaner and it has now gone a month without blowing- fingers crossed........

I am getting this problem too!

Infact mine has just gone. Thats 2 in the Dec/Jan.

Mind is passenger side.

I used to get the occasional bulb failure... but I cleaned the contacts on both the bulbs and the sockets (they were a little tarnished/corroded) with a cotton bud and some methylated spirit.

Fixed.

mine too. 1st the rear passenger side brake bulb blew, and again, then the drivers side, back to the passenger side - at which point I changed both bulbs and fingers crossed, its been ok since.

i've had no problems what so ever.......but then i've got lexus lights.[:I]........never cost me a bean since fitted.(and they don't condensate).

changing to yank spec r,s,r,s lights as soon as Shaqs bulbs get here.will be pretty peeved if they start blowing[:O]

well iv'e cleaned everything up and it's been 3 days without 1 blowing so hopefully this should be the end of it.thanks for the advice chaps
