Ambient air temp sensor reading low

Does anyone know how to recalibrate the ambient air temp sensor as mine reads about 8 degrees lower than it should.

It wouldn't ordinarily be a problem but in the hot weather I want the Aircon cold but the car thinks it's colder outside and therefore unless I set the temp to "low" the aircon doesnt really have much effect.

I've already replaced the sensor, but the new sensor read lower again.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Are you sure you are replacing the correct sensor? Where is it located as I know there a few sensors which are similar so gets confusing?

If you are replacing the correct one then there must be a problem with the connector or wiring. The sensor works by resistance - the lower the temp the higer the reistance AFAIK.

I wonder if the grounds to the chassis (there are several) are corroded after going through the puddle? This would increase resistance. The water temp could be because of faulty thermostat or bad earth.
