Aftermarket HU fitting

I removed my Gamma HU a while ago and fitted an aftermarket unit in the bottom slot. The HU doesnt fit all the way into the slot because the rca cables are too thick. Is there more space if I fit the HU in the top slot? Also, what are my options for the remaining empty slot?

I find it easier in the top slot and either an upside down Golf cubby hole or a right way up Polo cubby hole for the bottom slot.

Chris.
thanks. where can i get the cubby holes from and also is there a set of rca leads i can get with a thinner tip to fit? if that makes sense.
Cubby hole from VW or TPS as there don't seem to be any on e-bay and yes they do right angled RCAs but if you stick at it normal ones will fit.Put the headunit in first but leave the cubby hole out so you can guide the birdsnest of cables into the space on either side, thenm put the cubby hole in.
