Having just read a favourable review of front aero wipers on www.rmcb5.com I rang me local stealers intending to purchase a set like the R32 ones. The guy in the stores told me that they were not as good as the standard ones I have fitted now. At least he was honest even if he did lose a sale. So I was wondering, are the aero wipers better or is it just a cosmetic thing. Cheers guys.

I am more than happy with mine, they seem to work better (in heavy rain up to and including speeds in excess of the national speed limit - private / foreign roads [:D] ) and last longer than those on my previous golf. I also have the reat aero fitted.

Check out the price on www.vagparts.com.

A Bottle of RAIN-X will have more impact that new wipers

True, but I have the best of both worlds, Aeros & rain-x ( all round), use MK5 on the rear.

Done 43,728 miles in less than 18months with mine & still as good as new[:)]

Got the MkV one on the rear and wondered about fronts but they're ?50+P&P from VAG parts and that's a canny bit cash for wipers. Not sure unless there's a significant difference.

And that was my 100th post [:D] roll-on 1000th!

have the aeros on our mazda, and they are not superior than the bora (old style ones)... in fact when the screen is covered in tree sap even with spray the wiper scrapes and doesn't clean as well as the old style ones.

seems like the people who have problems with the aero wipers have not fitted it correctly!

if you get judder, your wiper motor needs greasing!

i have changed to aero wipers (along with around 5 other mk4s) and we all agree they are a big improvement!! at 90mph(ish) in the rain, they do a brill job!

This may explain my problem I had aero wiper fitted as standard to my golf when I bought it new in November 2003 but had nothing but trouble and my local dealer ain't to bother about it. Do you know of any of any other problems with cars that have had them fitted from the factory. I have tried new blades.
