Once again I found myself in the position tonight that i,ve got some little scrote trying to get into the house to get my car keys. I was upstairs and heard the banging on the front door and looked out of the upstairs window-he saw me and legged it.

Its becoming a bit of a worry now, and its not like i've got the best car on the street-though the slags have already had an R32 and an A4.

I'm after some suggestions regarding additional security to make the car look like it'll be too much of a ball-ache to rob, keys or not. Its kept on the drive behind gates with a security light and has the standard alarm and immobiliser etc.

Any suggestions before I wait for the little sh1t and take a hammer to him.[8o|]Grrr!

The house is alarmed to the hilt...problem is they now come during early evening; this d1ckhead was here at ten past six tonight.

Good point Carlos regarding taking something off to immbobilise the car-anything not under the bonnet i could do? Its a bit difficult and noisy messing under the bonnet when i leave for work at 4 in the morning.....(perhaps I should get to bed!!)

How about getting your door bell wired up to ring everytime someone
came upto the front door? You know like those one's that go
off when u walk into a shop? (they work by having a pressure
sensor under the floor mat)

It would ring each time the bugger would come up to your front door
(assuming that's where he's attacking). Also you could fit a
switch in to turn it off to stop it from winding u up!

Cheap and cheerful

hmm, Id go with the "connect gates to mains" :p

I was thinking about this this other day. Ive got an expensive sub in
the car and was wondering, what is someone actually got into the car
and tried taking it ... there should be some backup plan. So, since the
box is still uncarpeted, im deciding to glue on (with no nails glue)
pieces of broken glass all around the box. Call me crazy, but i know
"I" wont be touching the sub for a long time, and even if I do, ill do
it carefully as Ill have time. However, if someone else tries to lift
the sub then the glass will make sure they dont. Its a similar idea to stop pigeons landing on rooftops by putting spikes there.

Its an extreme measure but has to be done. Ive also got some other "evil" plans up my sleeve for other stuff :D

Why not just move to a slightly more civilised part of the country? Up here in the real North, car crime is virtually non-existent. My biggest problem is remembering to lock the car when I go south on holidays.

You sure that Manchester is really such a 'fine city' ?

It looks like they were after the keys so really a disklok would be pointless as if they get your keys your disklok key will be on the same bunch.

I can HIGHLY recomend the Clifford Blackjax system. Basically its a piece of kit that once you start the car you enter a code on the clifford keypad. You can place the small keypad somewhere out of site, but reachable to your driving seat so when you start the car you enter your code. If you dont enter the code with 20 or 30 seconds a warning sound will alert you that you need to punch in the code. If you dont do so withing 10 or 15 seconds the car totally cuts out weather you are stationary with the engine running or on the move, then the car is TOTALLY immobilzed until you punch the correct code in. If you dont punch the correct code in then the alarm goes off and all exterior lights start to flash like mad, drawing attention to it. The Blackjax feature also works as above if your in your car and some theif trys to jack you. The system is triggered each time any car door is opened. So if your engine is running and a freind opens the door to get in, you need to punch in your code again. A ball ache maybe each time a door is opened, but a very very good piece of kit that works. My dad had it on his Jag. He paid ?225 inc VAT and inc Fitting for it from SQ+ In Manchester, which are an approved Clifford centre.

Hello mate,

Sad to hear your having problems, get one little gob shite who has no respect for other peoples property, and it can make the life's of many people in the area a misery. I've lived in manchester most of my life, grew up in withington. And have seen the changes happening over the years, but it dosn't matter where you live get one scally family and anyone with a nice car/property has a problem. Think it comes down to the parents myself and, the fact, now most of these kids know the law can't touch them if they get caught. I think allot of people are wary to do anything themselfs (kick his hesd in) for the fear of reprisals. In my day if i touch something i'd be sure of a kicking off the owner and an even better beating off me dad if he found out. Now you give some kid a slap and the next think you know you've got its dad and three of his smack head mates knocking on your door.

My dad, lives in withington (next to moss side), and he bought a new range rover last year, the sales man was trying to sell him extra immobilisers and tracker he told him he didn't want it, thats what his insurance is for. I said to him you need this stuff dad especially where he lives but he just said if they kick the door in for the keys they can have them, it's only a car. now my dads not that rich he can just disregard the cost, and he as a collection of vintage cars and has been in the motor trade all his life so he dose appreciate the car. But touch wood he's not had a problem so far, he has a small yard where it's kept, 7 foot walls and big gates, so it seems out of sight out of mind.

Best thing to do it find yourself a garage to rent locally, put it away where they can't see it. Or the cctv is a good option but make it visable as a deterant, I don't have any faith in the police, a think even if you had footage of the inciddent they would not do allot. Failing that, few mates, white van, take him upto the moors after a good kicking drop him off naked, and leave him to make his own way home. lol

Manchesters not a bad place it's just some of the scum that live here, []

It sure is fine, Scotland has its share of [<)]problems to.
