Insurance is due for renewal next month and received a renewal notice yesterday from Admiral. Seemed reasonable as I did a number of quotes on the net last night.

However, went onto the Admiral site and did a quote just to make sure all was above board and got a quote of ?400 cheaper than my renewal quote [:O][xx(][:O]

Anyway, to cut some long / heated discussions short - eventually today got them to agree to honour the online quoted price [^]

So moral of the story is - check your renewal quote - just to be sure !

I just had my renewal from elephant... ?460.25 including Hire Car & o-Claims protection.

Ran through a new quote on-line and it came out at ?394.75, phoned them and they have matched it! Almost 15% less!!!

Thanks for the heads up! Checked with bell direct and they came out at ?425, just gonna do admiral now!

My renewal is up this month with Admiral. I have got a good quote with Elephant so I will see what the Admiral quote comes out like and if they will match it. The only problem is I really want to lower my car soon and they want around ?300 for me doing it. This is probably because of the anni bodykit, miltek and alloys that are also declared.

On a side note, has anyone any recommendations for an insurance company who will insure me with above mods and lowering at 20 years old with one years no claims? Elephants quote is ?1200 without the suspension but with the other mods.

I think you'll find that it's more than just Admiral who play this game.

I renewed my insurance last month with Herts. They sent through a renewal quote of ?430, but after getting an online quote from Elephant of ?390 I called Herts to see if they would match it. Got quite a surprise when they came back and and quoted me ?355, ?75 cheaper than their renewal quote.

Insurance companies are hoping for apathy on your part to just take the renewal quote!

True but some companies are better than others with all the mods I have I normally find I am bouncing off either greenlight or brentacre for very similar money normally there is just 2 or 3 pounds in it.

But I always ring round I am not one to give loyalty to insurance companies.

This is weird, I did a quote online with Elephant, (currently with Elephant also) and got ?698.00, i was going to go with another company, until my renewal came through and it was ?574, so ended up going with Elephant again. Maybe it was because last year I was on a 10 month bonus accel. program thingy, mainly because i wanted to off set my insurance, MOT, tax etc.

I just had my renewal through and its 400 quid more than what I can get with Elephant or Bell direct. How do you run a new quote through on the Admiral Website? I tried it but its says because I am an existing customer I have to ring them t get a new quote.

Sounds like I am the only one who Admiral have given a fair renewel quote to!!! [^]

Even logging on to there website and also elephant , I was still ?70 better off with the renewel they sent me .

I even double checked all the schedule to make sure they had not missed anything and ,,all OK

Even other insurance companies could not touch my renewel figure .

This is the 1st time for ages , my renewel has not not increased ,, as the new customer discounts are removed.

As a rule , you always find cheaper insurance swapping each year,, to gain new customer discount ,, but ,, Wahooooo !!!

No problems with my Admiral renewel[^][^][^][^]

Try esure, knocking spots off all the others I tried, ?278 fully comp with 65% no claims, free c/c and no excess, for a passat 130 sport, all the rest were ?500/600 ish. My mate works for CIS and he's even gone with them and he says the whole insurance trade is worried about there undercutting.

I had my renewal through from Elephant a few days ago and surprise surprise the online quote came out quite a bit cheaper than the renewal!

I then made some changes to the policy online like adding 4,000 more miles per year, a remap and removing one of the named drivers and it was STILL cheaper than my renewal! Going to phone them up this week and get them to explain themselves....

At the mo though Admiral are proving to be the cheapest so will probably go with them unless Elephant can come up trunks trumps.
