Just wondered how easy/expensive it is to retro fit?

Also, how
reliable is it? Im thinking of buying a new car after Christmas, so
just want to re-vamp this one for her last 6 months!

Hi Sir.

If your car is drive by wire (electronic throttle) then you can buy the oem cruise control stalk and the wiring loom etc all in for about £60. Its seems quite and easy install if you have basic knowledge etc.

There is a guide on Foxys website iirc, if you search the forum you will find it.

One other thing you have to do is enable cruise control via vagcom.

Hope this helps

TDi's are easier than Petrol as the wiring to the ECU is in place.

Cruise should be 100% reliable as long as you install it correctly.

As already stated there are a couple of very good guides online.

I've just had it fitted to my 2003 MKIV R32 cost £175 including VAT and fitting from Awesome GTI - great great service. Would recommend them without hesistation.

If you check VW's website its says that are doing it for £150 ince vat and fitting, but I can't find a dealer that will do it!!!!!!

pretty much DIY tbh - diesels are easier as the ecu part of the fitting does not have to be done as its pre wired - do a quick search on the forum dude for part nos - IIRC £70 all in from dealer

4mo should be as easy as the TDI with the stalk and loom. It's only the 1.8Ts that need the additional ECU wiring I believe
