ABS and Traction Control lights

Driving int he snow, they came on and then went away, nothing else was different int he car apart from the traction controla nd ABS not working, obviously.

I've read about snow getting behind the ABS sensor so thought nothing of it, and as i was driving they went off on their own accord.

Now they're going on and off all the time, and today i was driving went to brake and the pedal was rock hard.

Nothing happend, it was rock hard for about 3 presses then the error lights came up and i could brake again. I shat my pants!

Any ideas whats up with it?

Could be a knackered abs pump or it could be a wonky sensor. Vag com is your friend in this situation, either that or get it down to a garage so they can have a poke about. Don't leave this to chance as it's your braking system.

x2 its braking system mate! no funny at all if i was you i would probably pull the car to the garage rather than driving it, dont mess with these things..i'd say vagcom first, most probably its your abs pump
I've been told it could be a Vacuum hose?

Problem is, how do i diagnose it!?
like others have said using vag-com,

doubt thats it the pump sounds more like a sensor out of place/exciter ring problem, get the wheels off one by one and nose around
If you could get the car plugged on a computer it will normally tel you which wheel it is i agree with the last post more like damp getting in to the plug for the sensor. Undo the plugs on the sensors check for a blue colour in the plug.
