Im toying with the idea of putting 9.5x18" rims on the rear of my Golf with 8.5x18" on the front (with 225-40-18 tyres). What tyre size would i need to get for a 9.5x18" wheel? I presume a 225-40-18 tyre wont stretch on?

U gotta do it! its such a euro thing to do!

225 40 18 will go straight on mate, lil stretch but nothing major. Or u could go for a 245 35 18 or 235 40 18 ....

well i didnt know that 225's would fit on a 9.5" wide rim - bonus that is coz i wont have to shell out on more tyres.

i know 9's on the front are a little wide but when i had my car painted i had the front arches rolled compltely flat and then had them pulled very slightly in the middle so should be fine, well its got one chance has'nt it.

What offset you going for front and back.

cheers 4low.

It's about time we stop been big kitten's and widen those rims.
