Has any one got a good clear pic of the rear skirt on a 4 motion and is it true they retail at around ?45 from VW.

got one on mine, but no pic sorry! yea iirc it was about ?45, fited mine myself, but watch out when you try to line up the towin eye, had to cut my valance a lil to let it sit nicely! just need it painted now

Matt apart from the exhaust cut out is it any different to my standard 2ltr gti one.

obvisouly theres the cut out, and the towing eye does not line up. that was the only problem i had. when removing the old one, remember theres some small black screws in the rear wheel archs, remove them and gently pull the old one off.

I know I may have to mod it a bit but is it the same skirt to look at or different in any way to the one I have,The reason I ask is I was going to paint mine but if the 4 motion one is different(sportier) I would get one and paint that

Nobody seem s to have mentioned that the 4motion rear valance is different not just by way of exhaust cut out, but also the depth and shape!!  look at the photo... all 'normal' valances are more rounded and shallow. I smoothed and painted mine too... link in my signature to pictures.

Total rubbish fella, they are trying to rob you, or they have quoted you for front AND rear together.

I bought one from stealers only a month or so ago and with trade discount of about 15% was around ?35.

is that including vat ?35 that is..... Cant believe it cos i have just rang them and they qouted ?79.99 for the rear one! bloody thief bet he was going to pocket the differents...but it was for the bora, but still wouldnt be that much differents wud it?!

I thought the 4motion one was colour coded, is it not?

Or is it in primer and you need to have it painted?

Just phoned VW dealer and the 4 motion rear skirt in black unpainted is ?44.57 all in inclusive of Vat and the part number is

1J 6807521 CB41

Just to confirm 4motion valance, comes UN painted only. I believe it is the same unit for Golf and bora at the back, and know for a fact that the front 4motion valances are identical for bora/golf, and again only UNpainted. Trust me if I had been able to get away without all the effort of smoothing prepping and painting I would have!![:S]

hence the uncertainty about the fitment on the rear, but the certainty with the front one. im right about the painting though...[]
