Hello, Unfortunately I had the keys to my slightly modified 1999
Renault clio, Stolen from a garag when it was having some work done on
it, I've got the car back, But I have decided that it maybe time for a
new car.

I have done some research and got some insurance quotes. I dont care
about performance, I am 18 years old with only a few months experience
under mybelt, so I dont want too much power. I do however want luxeries
such as electric windows etc etc etc. I also want a 3 door model. Now
to my knowledge they dont make a Black Mk 4 3 door in a 1.6 engine? I
maybe wrong. I have got some suprisingly cheap insurane quotes on a Mk
4 3 Door 1.4 S. I know the specification on this model is somewhat
pointless (14 seconds to 60) But the insurance is cheap.

Anyway. I'm into my modified cars, And I think the first place to
start is the wheels. I want 20" wheels and slam it.. I know my
acceleration is going to be rediculous, But I was wondering what type
of arch work is necessary to get 20's on a1.4S? I want to go VERY low
as well, I know my friend didnt need any arch work getting 19's on his
bora, but is there any difference with a 20" rim on a Golf?

Also, will I be able to go low enough with just a set of coilovers, or
wiould I be better off just splashing out on a set of spunky Air Bag
suspension?

Remember, Performance isnt the key here. I just want to be rollin on dubs :)

Many thanks

Maybe 19's then. I've saw the wheels i want, They are ?2400 + tyres :(
2 Piece Split Rims, Not available in the UK. Although I am sure I can
find soem similar looking 1 Piece ones for cheaper!

The wheels will be the centre piece of the car, So I dont mind spending the money on the wheels and tyres.

My cureent car has 55bhp and is on 18's lol.

I suppose If I get 19's, FK Coilovers, and Uprated bushes and anti roll
bars, the car will look good and wont be as bad to drive.

Is any arch work required for the 19's when lowerign it substantially?

I want to fit an R32 Kit, Delock and DeHandle it, take off the bump
strips, subtle bad boy on the bonnet, Fully smooth the boot and get
Tints all round. Then Get a nice set of Misano Seats, Re trim the back
seats to match and hasve my existing alpine system fibreglassed in :)

Does the 1.4 have drums on the back?

Hopefully I will havethe car looking how i want in 2-3 years. Then
Hopefully insurance will be cheap enough to bolt in a turbo'd lump
:)
