As gorgeous as my lady is shes got no sense what so ever when it comes to motors!!

In her words "Mum and Dad have agreed to buy me a new car for my 21st" which is nice if you can get it! However shes got her heart set on either a new mini cooper or a pug 206cc...

Im trying to pursuade her to go for the mini because im really not a fan of the 206cc or peugeot in general! But if she has a mini she wants me to pay for it to be sprayed pink with white cooper stripes on the bonnet and a white roof... [B)] [:(]

What should she do? What should I do?

Go for the Peugeot 206cc Quicksilver. Its a limited eddition of 1000 and comes with the sport pack all for ?14995 on the road.

Apparently they have stopped production of the CC until September, so once all the Quicksilvers have sold it will be very hard to get a 206cc. And they are holding there money really well too !

We went looking at 206CC's a few weeks back and they do seem to be holding their value well.

Got voted in the top 50 worst cars ever in Top Gear magazine though, mainly cos Peugeot forgot to put a rain gutter on the roof.

I'd go for the Mini

Errrr - not being funny but respraying an almost new car that doesnt need it is maddness, to get a proper job, and I mean a REALLY good job you will pay a lot of money, and it wont help resale in a couple of years.

Mini is the better car, in every sense apart from the roof. Both are extremely common cars, Mini left as is is the better deal - get it painted at your own peril!

If it my missus I would suggest she go for the Mini personally, then I could drive it without looking completely homosexual......unless she got it painted pink![:(]

If she goes for a 206 CC I think you might want to consider the 2.0, as in a review I read a while back it said that the car was too heavy for the 1.6 to cope with. Also how tall is she, I am 5 ft 10 and I found there to be a severe lack of headroom.

Hopefully she will opt for one of the colour options on the site..

Shes got her heart set on baby pink though for some reason!!..

I dont wanna sound s**ist but I raced a 206CC on sunday nite and it had a couple of very good looking ladies init!. She did try very hard and I THOUGHT FOR A SECOND SHE MIGHT KEEP UP! But I left her. It was a 2.0 16v judging by the trim level outside (I hope)so it has got some poke. In my opinion the car is cool but real chic car.

Here are the prices from www.autobytel.co.uk, including the discount they offer off dealer prices. I have been looking in to these latley for my aunt. The 1.6 does not have alloys as standard. The 2.0 has alloys and digital climate control amongst other things as standard. No model comes with a spare wheel as standard just tyre foam.

206 1.6 Quiksilver 2dr Convertible ?13,558

206 1.6 S 2dr Convertible ?13,783

206 1.6 S Tip Auto 2dr Convertible ?14,703

206 2.0 SE 2dr Convertible ?14,606

Yeah, what about the Lupo GTi?

Anyway, if it's between those two, then I say the Mini... But whoever suggested respraying it must have been on acid/mushrooms. You don't respray new cars... You buy them in the colour you want them.

A decent respray will cost you a couple of grand at least... Probably more if you want a good job doing.

However, as everyone else has said, when it comes to selling it, who else is going to want a custom "baby pink" mini?? Price-Drop on Sky couldn't shift it!

A girl I know has a 2.0 206CC and it really suits her (she got the 2.0 as it's faster and has much better spec inc 16" alloys etc etc etc...), but they're not the best cars in the world (like most French cars, interior plastic leaves a lot to be desired as does the long-assed gearstick).

Get the mini but tell her that she needs to choose one of the vast range of factory colours and that you and her brother will go halves on a set of 18"s for it!
