Currently fitted to my dad's car. He's thinking of getting some 18's so I thought these would look pretty good on mine. I know i'd need to get some adaptors for them, i think they're 5x130? or 112, not 100%. My question is, would I need new tyres for them? The fronts ar 17x7.5 with 225/45 fitted and the rears are 17x8 with 245/45 fitted. They tyre does give the alloy slight protection as they are. What are the correct tyre sizex that i'd need for them to be flush from tyre to alloy?

Alloys in question..

The rears protrude about 10-15mm as they are with 245/45.
You could go down to 225/45 on the rears and 215/45 on the fronts and still be within 1.5% of the correct diameter. Should be perfectly fine for the backs and bring them in ~10mm each side of the tyre. The fronts might not come as close, but you could just about push down to 205/45, this would put you 2.8% out though (recommended is only 2.5%). Depends how fussy you are about speedometer accuracy really.
