I have been waiting for a nice weekend like this since buying my car last December as it was in desperate need of some TLC - I don't think it's ever been waxed since it left the supplying dealer 3 years ago!

So....I have been stocking up on some detailing materials over the past 3 months, the weather was perfect and I was finally able to revive my Anni's paintowrk. I cannot believe how nice it's come out [^]

Here's what I did:

1) Removed and cleaned all 4 alloys with Virosol.

2) While the wheels were off I scrubbed the arch liners with undiluted Virosol. I could not believe how much brown tar was on them! Think I have restored them to the original colour now [;)]

3) Washed car with hot zymol, rinsed and dried.

4) Claybar'd entire car and the re-washed with hot Zymol, dried.

5) Applied Megs deep crystal paint cleaner to entire car.

6) Treated minor scratched with Megs ScratchX

7) 3M handglazed entire car.

8) Applied one coat of Megs NXT tech wax to entire car.

9) Finished off with 2 coats of P21S carnuba wax.

10) Removed GOLF badge and fitted my 20th Anni 'rabbit' badge [;)]

I started at 9am yesterday and finsihed for the day at 5pm. I then carried on today for a further 4 hours, my arms are aching [)] here are the results!

What a to see the difference, it nice too the time spent on improving what one could say "a mess". However something tells me that from those pics that you could get the paint looking even better. (May just be the light but it should sparkle more than that)

But after seeing your process, I can't see how!!

sem, what is Virosol??

Martyn, i think it is an equivalent of MC2, but a lot cheaper. Someone who has purchased it should be able to give you more detail.......

btw, car looks great, just a shame the sun wasn't out when you took the pics, to get the reflections going.

Your car looks fantastic, totally restored, if not better than its former glory [:D]

The paintwork looks mint, very jealous, so wanted the weather for a full proper car clean myself!

Great work! [8D]
