Suprising increase in performance between 4Motion and R32.

Theres a bridge over the A73 after the A80 roundabout - 75ish mph in a 2L auto Omega same as manual 2L Saab 9000, 80ish in 2L Saab 93, 90 in a 2.0T 150BHP Saab 93 coupe, 95 in a A4 Quattro 193 BHP, same as 200BHP 4Motion Bora. Now got a AMD chipped R32 engine in Bora - just over 110 to the bridge! Taking to 3500rpm max through gears until it reaches top still gives 90!

The above may be true, or i may have just made it up. Officer.

Hey you know your stuff. Just looked at the brochure : "Four sorty 7j 17 'Longbeach' alloy wheels with 225/45 tyres feature as part of the Sports pack".

Sorry Longbeach Alloys. Seen a few variation on this style on Passats.

Never seen any exactly same though. Probly cos they were a rip

Yours has the nice wheels then [:)]. Ive seen a couple with them but most had the shockingly stupid looking 16" Brands Hatches as fitted to my car before I got shot of them. So its a stealth car then? No clues apart from the Brembos? Thats uber cool. I Didn't know Brembos would fit behind the LBs

According to Arnold Clark? Must be true then! I read a load of reveiws on this site www.arnoldsucks.com Him and his dealerships sound like a right shower of you know what.

Still, if you've changed the engine, then at least you wont have to experience the after sales service that the majority of Arnold Clarke customers have. [:)]

Yeah, i was'nt too worried about not paying ?200 for an oil change again.

Had loads of grief with servicing Haldex Coupling. Oil should be changed at 18 K they did'nt bother.get the feeling after speaking to VW uk, no dealer bothers.

Did it myself then you know its done. and rear diff oil.

You need to buy a special tool to fit the Haldex filter. I had one made.

I found some info on changing the oil and filter for an S3 (same as) on the net.

I'll dig it out and post the link.

The oil drops straight out the drain on the bottom (don't confuse with Diff) the fill is on opposite to the plastic filter. the filter looks like a very large plastic bolt (about 38mm). The oil comes in a Silicone mastic type tube you put in those gun things.

Oil every 18k, filter every 36K.

I can take some pics next week of the underside of car. I suppose you might want to see some pics of the engine bay as well eh?

A couple [:)]

My Haldex has never been done, 32k on the clock. At the service (VAG Specialist) we checked with VW and they said 40k (my manual says oil at 20k, filter at 40k). As it didnt make sense to run new oil through a dirty filter, we didn't bother and planned to get both done at 40k. Might just do it myself to make sure its been done I spose.
