im thinking of getting 10mm spacers to give the car a more agressive stance after getting it lowered. will your basic, cheap spacers be fine at this narrow width, or is it important to go with the likes of eibach etc?
also, will standard wheel nuts fit with this additional 10mm?
I got my 15mm rear spacers from AmD, they arrived and it turned out I
needed longer wheel bolts which they had failed to tell me at the time
of ordering so I then ordered some bolts and front 5mm spacers from
Demon Tweeks. Shipping was fast even though they had to order in
the parts so I was very pleased.
Hub centric means the spacer has a centre bore that will fit exactly over the mounting lip on your hub.
The cheap spacers you get from halfords don't - the centre hole, or bore as its called, is usually alot larger and when you fit the wheel over them they aren't held central against the hub. This is when wheel wobble occurs...
Spacers from FK, H&R and Eibach are hub centric. Althogh I'm sure H&R so a spacer that isn't... can't remember what size that is though.
I can vouch for the hubcentric spacers, I have 15mm rear hubcentrics
but the fronts I got from demon tweeks are universal which are fine and
dont give any wobble but they were a real PITA to line up because they
keep moving around without that handy little centring ring in the
middle[]
understeer is increased with the addition of rear spacers, how much so
varies on the size of spacers fitted but you get used to it like
anything over time.
depending on size, you may only need spacers which can be had for ?14
or so. Thats a few less beers at your local for a few weeks which
is well worth it in the long run
