I would think sticking caliper, plus something like MAF getting killed like my K&N did to my MAF on my TDI.
That, and get it scanned [

According to K&N themselves it's nothing more than an urban myth that their airfilters can kill MAF sensors. Why would the MAF get killed by the K&N dude?
Pipercross use oil too... I have a can of it in my garage for the moto-X bikeseveryones mpg down slightly due to the cold weather, some k and n can kill mafs as they use oils in there filters which end up killing them thats why alot of people use pipercross panel filters, i would say good chance its your maf, but to be sure you need to log it on vagcom

yeh but why is it only a problem after 229000 miles then?! its NEVER been cleaned lol!do you have a EGR still fitted? have you checked to see if its clogged up with muck? if it is (which i bet it is) you mite want to remove that and the inlet and clean them out.![]()
do i really have to explain this..but what im saying is, people have that sort of problem at 80k, but this car has never had the problem...does it mean its just less dirty lol?!
no, i get what your saying, and clearly it is an issue. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this has been a very noticeable, sudden change in charecteristics, and is more likely explained by the sticking caliper. I would expect the EGR muck to build up and be a slow, gradual decline in power.do i really have to explain this..but what im saying is, people have that sort of problem at 80k, but this car has never had the problem...does it mean its just less dirty lol?!
If as you say its a 80k problem, and your cars done 200 odd k, and its never been done, Chances are pretty good that its full of muck.
You cant ask questions on a forum, get answers and then say no because the problem didnt happen 150k ago when it should of done! thats just retarded!![]()
