any guesses?

i ran a quote on elephant, using the same info as my corsa quote (with the addition of my new crash)

it quoted me ?2035 TPFT for 10 months, or ?2235 for a year.

thats in my name, but with mum on the policy too.

is that about right?

My renewal should be through in the post in the next few weeks, I'm expecting;

Age: 20

Driving: 2y10m

NCB: 1yrs

Car: 2000 1.4S

Cover: Fully Comp

Living in SE London

Price: ?650 (10 Months)

I'm pretty happy with this, I was having a look around and for a 1.8T or a 150 PD GTI it would be around ?1450, which again is not bad, but I wanna keep mine for a few years before I get into the whole 'fast' cars scenario.

As it is now, the car costs me virtually nothing, its all paid for and running costs are VERY low. I have no idea what you work as, or how much money you earn, but I'd definately never work just to pay for my car.

not getting one is not an option, lol.

i dont mind paying the high premium, as it may seem high to you, but where i live, and most of the drivers i know my age - a 1 - 2k insurance premium isnt out of the norm.

and if im paying 1.8k for a 1.0 corsa, then thats a large amount, so i wont mind shedding 200-300 more to get me into a golf, as opposed to my shopping trolley.

I'm 17, got a Black 3dr Golf 1.4S 16V.

I get it insured under my mum's name with any driver (any age, and history) allowed to drive it, fully comp. The price is ?1000 with a ?250 excess.

I know I can't build up my own no claims this way but it seems stupid paying ?1700-2500 to have it in my own name.
