seriously just buy a 1.6 16v it'll be cheaper and way easier.. transfer your good stuff over to the new car and sell the old one to the scrappy.... the only engine swaps that are worth it are the 1.8t or r32. The rest is a waste of money and time.

I was expecting that kind of replies. Do you think that your reply added some value to the thread ?
What is this attitude? In your first post? Why, because you didn't like the answer?
But let me explain why i replied the way I did...

I added it because you didn't specify clearly if you already looked into the viability of your intended swap. Honestly the amount of money you are going to spend to do that engine swap you are better off buying a complete 1.6 16v... you can than always swap the lot over if you so desire... buying all the needed parts loose will set you back almost the same as just buying a 1.6 16v with a bad shell, plus if you ever want to sell it, it won't be worth anything because it's not a wanted engine swap... unless it's bought by someone you know that knows how much work has gone into it and appreciates it (doesn't happen often) So yes it added value to the thread, maybe not what you wanted to read, but at least you got told why it's not the best engine swap to undertake.

But you got the info i would have given you later on from a fellow member... he should've pointed out that getting a complete car as a donor is cheaper than buying the needed parts loose... It also gives you the option to just swap the key barrels, immo, ecu and clocks leaving coding that lot out of the equation ( plus the fact you'll have a ton of parts for the picking) and when you are done you can always sell what you don't need to recover some of your money back.
