what would you be looking at for a standard Gti TUrbo 1/4 mile - 16.5 ish?
remapped PD150 being gentle to the clutch in the dry 0-60 just under 8 seconds
0-100 in 19 flat.
I reckon that a decent driver withot mechanical symathy and the ESP turned off could better these times.
All done with road markers and GPS.
As a comparison I could run 0-60 in 5.3 flat in my Impreza Turbo and 0-100 in 13.6 ish.

Sammy I could do 0-60 in 6.7 and the 1/4 mile in 14.9 with just a remap, have yet to see what I can do it in with the nos.

As I said a better driver would do better times. I'm no expert.

I think both the times quoted were 150 PD's REVO'd.
John they're the 150bhp TDi engines. Are you thinking of the petrol engines. Sammy you really shouldn't worry that much about the clutch. I'm not saying do high rpm launches etc by dumping the clutch but fast changes are very possible. Dumping the clutch does nothing but induce wheelspin in our cars anyway. My time was at GTi international which doesn't have the best possible surface, I'll see what I can do at the Pod soon. I'm hoping for times closer to 6seconds and a 1/4 mile of 14.5 or thereabouts. I will have a limited slip diff and with a bit of luck a bit more nitrous.

Changing up at 4k is pretty much perfect. Going higher results in slower times (in my tests atleast). And there's not much use side-stepping clutch with TDI. You will end up just spinning the wheels and going nowhere. I start at about 1200rpm and try to lift up the clutch as soon as possible and just being careful with gas on first gear so I get some spin, not too much. Timed 0-60mph 6.8s in my remapped PD130 (was about 170hp) during quarter mile run.

I manged 1/4 mile in 16.1 at the pod last year in my standard 1.8t. Have now had it revo'd so will have to go again

I need to learn how to drive a PD then, I thought there might be some more to come but a second on launch and a couple more upto 100 is a lot to be losing out. Always managed well enough in the Impreza but that was 4K and feed out clutch very fast, if not sidestep for a AWD launch.

ESP off, forgot to add that sorry. Have done runs with and without and it can cost .5 secs up the 1/4 mile.
