Hi guys,

Just got a 52 plate totally stock mkIV V6 4Motion Golf, I have around 1k-2k max to spend on engine mods, suspension, brakes etc. I am looking for a decent increase in bhp, better handling etc. Seens as you guys are in the know and i'm a self confessed noob I thought I would pose the question. What would you do in my situation?

Thanks,

spooks.

Personally, in order of priority...

(1) sort handling by uprating suspension est ?700-800

(2) AMD remap approx ?400-450

(3) 18" alloys...upto ?1k (second hand, maybe?)

But perhaps I'm a little biased...

def remap, def suspension, def alloys, after that see what you've got left, or start saving again!

I like your style m8 [8D]

Yeh, will get amd stage 1, BBS RC 18" alloys. What suspension do you recommend, will it be a suspension kit? I am a noob so you'll have to explain.

If your quick Halfrauds are doing a 20% discount on BBS alloys

As no one else has mentioned them a bargain handling mod for the V64M is R32 ARB's.

I personally don't think you'll get much benefit from engine tuning.

If you want performance over looks go for matched springs and dampers, ARB's, Brembos and light weight 18" alloy wheels such as OZ Superlegeras.

So... basically I should be getting some konigsport coilovers, amd stage 1 and some 18" wheels of my choice (probably BBS RC's). You guys got any recommendations on the best air induction kits available?

The remap made a big difference in power delivery when I had my V6 4mo, only a gain of 20-30bhp but a much smoother power delivery, worth every penny in my opinion...

only? i would say thats a very good gain from a N/A engine

Eibach/H&R springs, R32ARB's - realignment

New brakepads (discs should be fine on a 52 plate)

lightweight 17s with goodyear F1s (18s will prob blow the budget - and are obviously heavier!)

Milltek cat-back exhaust

remap -AmD

That's all you will ever need IMHO.
