Do i keep it and get tints, new bumper, collies, and new wheels?

Return back to previous owner?

Or keep it and repair the little niggles on the car that the previous neglected to mention in the advert. (stated car was in perfect condition with not a single problem)

as for weather or not you should return it or keep it. i would wait a bit see if they contact you asking about an envelope. if not then keep it.

but im sure others will say otherwise

 hold on to it for a few weeks and see if the seller tries to contact you. contact the police to see if the car has any pnc markers from drug dealing

if everything is ok, you could do the kind thing and give the money back. personaly, i would probably fix the problems on the car with it that i wasnt told about

Pretty much what has already been said. Firstly check the car out if you haven't already done so. Then leave it for a while and see if they contact you... if the don't - then keep it

I personally would make an effort to give it back.

But DON'T just call up the previous owner and say "Have you left your £1000 quid under the seat?" 99% of people will say yes, even if it wasn't theirs. You could maybe just call them and ask them if they left anything in the car? Tread carefully, if they don't know exactly how much etc - it aint theirs. But if the previous owners have your details - they will probably be in contact if it was theirs and they left and were bothered about it.

Log it with the police, say you found it - if nobody claims it within a certain amount of time - its legally yours!!!

At least then you don't have it on your concience (assuming you have one)

Stake it at the bookies, make your cash then give the grand back.  It's ballsy, but would make a great story. 

Save it for a few months, see if anyone contacts you about it...but to be fair I cant see it happening...usually if people realise they left that sort of cash around they say something within 24 hours of it disappearing. Luckys for you the car obv hadnt been cleaned by some cheap vallet company before you bought it lol 

With that amount of cash my guess is its not going to belong before someone, somewhere will miss it if they haven't done so already, and if they have already done so they may not remember where exactly they have left it.???

Personally I would hold on to it, report it to the police give them all the details, sit and wait for how ever long you have to wait before its rightfully yours, which of course at this moment in time it's not.!!!  

Just my opinion, for what its worth.!!!

 aha at vw4 however, I would keep it TBH.

I'm not going to say that I'd hand it back and make phone calls etc etc because i wouldn't, but what i would do is hold onto it for a few weeks and give them the chance to phone me, then after that, I'm afraid it's finders keepers. £500 in the car and £500 into the house.

If only someone left me a grand under my car seat.. That would take the sting out of owning my MK5 ATM.

I'd keep it. It's up to the owner to check everythings gone from the car before they hand it over. Does sound a little dodgy though so why not put it to some good use for yourself. Might be worth taking a couple of notes to a bank to see if it's pukka money.

What a result though, £1000 on mods . Did the person you bought it from seem 'normal'? Were they wealthy? I can't think of a reason I would put £1000 in an envelope and stick it under the seat, and then forget about it leave it there?! Maybe its been under the seat since they bought it and they have no idea its there.

How would your conscience be if they did call asking for it? would you not be able to tell them You hadn't found it? Its a tough one. You could say you had the car valetted shortly after you bought it and.........?

I'm off to check under my seat :)
